Alternative Energy - The Wave Of The Future?

By

Are you like so many other people around the world dealing with the rising costs of living? I don't know about you, but I am tired of lining the pockets of my utility company while doing everything I can to cut back. It makes me mad that they just keep getting richer while us common folks struggle. I think it's time we do something about it, don't you?

I have been exploring ways to tap into some alternative energy sources lately. It used to be that setting up your home to run on solar power or wind power was so expensive that the average homeowner couldn't possibly afford it. So people tended to overlook the possible freedom that having these systems in place could give them. Freedom from those high bills, freedom to use your utilities when you really need them without fear of having a huge bill you can't pay.

Fortunately for us, there are now books available that can show you how to set up your own solar or wind power generators easily. The best thing about tapping into these types of power is that it is completely free after the initial setup cost. So now the average homeowner CAN afford to explore using alternative energy. Imagine being able to build a solar panel or a wind turbine for around $100 using materials easily bought at your local hardware store. Now that's a far cry from the tens of thousands a company would charge you to bring and install a system in your home.

Switching over to alternative energy sources isn't getting a lot of encouragement as of yet. I bet that the power companies aren't too eager to lose our business! A small percentage of people are living ‘off the grid' right now, but I imagine more people will be joining these pioneers soon.

Hi There,

Your completely right it is about time I made some effort towards cutting my self a slice of potentially free renewable energy instead of being held to ransom by companies whose profits grow year in year out at my expense.

Thanks for a bit of inspiration, Gareth.

We're getting there. T. Boone Pickens is pushing wind heaily at his http://www.pickensplan.com site.

Cool vids. I'd never heard of solar hot water.
